technology

Technology

Some times tele -communications can't always be helpful to everyone. Natural disasters have struck since the earth’s beginning, but one dramatic change is underway: A global telecommunication network and the internet’s social media have shrunk the world, speeding news about disasters as well as speeding delivery of succor for victims. News moved as fast as electronics and telecommunications could carry it. Social media replaced pornography as a preferred destination for internet users in 2008 and now serves as the earliest news source for any major event, from political upheavals to natural disasters.

Rapid response to the quakes, including targeted fund raising and more effective relief, boosted the status of social-media sites. Ordinary people use electronic media’s global reach to spread news and raise money for rescue and relief; rescue and relief workers communicate with one another, the displaced connect with family and friends, and onlookers deliver messages of comfort. Even scientists at the US Geological Survey examine social-media volume and topics for extra data on shaking, surface movement and damage.

A closer look at social media’s role after these earthquakes suggests that gaps remain. Border-spanning power of electronic social media has not overcome human nature. Some Twitter messages from Haiti carried rumors, and the FBI issued warnings about charlatans requesting funds via Twitter messaging.

These some issues have been facing around the globe and if we can stop this we can make technology for a better use.

good and bad drinks

GOOD DRINKS AND BAD DRINKS

Good drinks and Bad drinks have been gone through all over the world.
Diet soft drinks, ice teas, fruit juices, coolers, every year, about 1,000 new beverages come onto the market, targeting our rising incomes and our innate fondness for anything sweet. They're changing they way we get our nutrients. Over the past 20 years, we've added between 630 kilojoules (150 calories) and 1260 kilojoules (300 calories) to our daily diet - and half of this additional amount is from drinks. About 20 per cent of our total energy intake now comes from beverages.

Water is tasteless and it's not much of a reason to get together with those old friends. 'I know a great little garden tap' isn't much of an invitation. best, from the point of view of health is tea. Both black and green tea contain antioxidants and studies have shown them to lower the risk of heart disease and possibly cancer.Coffee is also high on the list it appears to lower the risk of diabetes . Coffee might also lower the risk of bowel cancer. But too much caffeine can increase the risk of heart disease - less than 400 mg a day (which equates to four or five cups) is safe.Adding milk, cream, and sugar means added kilojoules and fats and pushes both tea and coffee further down the list, however. It's best taken black.

Full cream milk on the other hand is high in calories and saturated fat and has been linked with heart disease and should be avoided, the researchers say. Next comes diet soft drinks There's no evidence these sweeteners are harmful, but there's no evidence that they're safe over the long term either. Next are fruit juicesegetable juices like tomato and multi-vegetable juices are a good substitute; they have less calorie than fruit juices, but even so it's better to eat the vegetables. Smoothies are especially high in kilojoules and should be avoided. Then there's alcohol in large amounts alcohol causes serious disease like liver cirrhosis and cancer. Beware spirit-based coolers which are sweetened with sugars and are high in calories.

fastfood

FAST-FOOD

Fast food has been a main issue through Americans and Canadians.
The compelling rise in fast-food restaurants since the 1940’s, oddly, too, started the rise in obesity and cancer during that same time period. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to do the math and link fast food to the obesity and cancer crisis. Synthetic chemicals added to processed food, including fast food, damage your body’s cells. Your body is made up of nutrients found in plants and animals you eat. Man-made food items loaded with pesticides, as well as aspartame, margarine, and other man-made chemicals do not nourish your body. If your body can’t use what you put into it you will gain fat and decrease health.

Granted, calories do count to an extent, but what counts more is the quality of the calorie. If you want to lose fat then you have to change your eating habits. This doesn't mean opt for Healthy Choice and Smart One’s frozen meals because they appear to be healthy. Food manufacturers use deceptive marking tactics to create an illusion to make people buy their product. To lose fat and keep it off you should choose foods in their natural state, such as fresh organic cuts of meat, fresh organic fruits and vegetables, essential fats, and plenty of filtered water. It’s vital that you go back to the basics.

ttc bus

TTC BUS

TTC buses have been one issues among many people. TTC buses has been crushed with people and teenagers who has been coming after school and going to school. I feel that they should sent more buses for people because of not because of teenagers, but also because of workers who are coming back from work. people who start making sexual assaults on teenage girls. There is an issue on a same guy who sexually assaulted eight teenage girls on November 5th, 2009. The man was 47-years old and girls were ridding a crowded Kennedy 43 TTC bus, some of them were between the ages of 13-17 years old.

TTC bus drivers have been a main issue as they have been not check how much people are paying there money. once I saw a one person putting only maybe 1 dollar but in 5 cents so they do not understand how much they are putting in. Bus drivers have been senting messages such as people do not respect them. we are people who are respectful and asking questions to how people and the work and TTC is? Once I asked one of the drivers they rudely disrespectfully answered me that he doesn't know. These are some issues that I feel that are some changges can be happening in society.

Education issues

Major political issues and controversial social issues in education as our societies become more technological, the demands for a well-educated populace increase. Improvements and reforms must be made in education. Children's cannot acquire the necessary skills to survive in a modern, technological world, without a more advanced education. The political and social issues surrounding education and educational reform sometimes make it difficult to perceive a clear path for our children's future.

Education has been a bitter learning as to many children. boarding schools, colleges, universities and high schools have been changing around the world. Teachers as to have a better effort as to let students understand in what world they are in and how to live in this world with education. As for a good example is cell phone using in a teenagers life. teenagers have been so addicted to cell-phones that they even ignore there work and part of their life time in this. Texting has become a mania among the teens, with the cases of texting while driving rising. Moreover, according to a statistics, around 15% of teens claimed that they have received sexually explicit pics of someone they knew through text message. due to some causes classes being gone and some times just interrupting classes.

These are some reasons that can be a good example of students having not a better education.

racism

Racial issues historically have involved African Americans. The issues associated with Black Americans remain the principal focus today. But a new wave of immigration during the past 30 years has overwhelmingly consisted of Hispanics and Asians. New issues associated with these groups have similarities and differences with issues facing African Americans.
The most profound cataclysmic event was the systemic massacre of Jews by Nazi Germany. In fact, many European countries have demonstrated very high levels of intolerance especially toward immigrants of color who have entered their workforces in recent decades. Throughout much of the 20th century, Australia practiced an exclusionary immigration policy which targeted all non-Caucasians. Racism was institutionalized by apartheid in South Africa until the 1990's. In contrast, the United States experience appears enlightened if imperfect.

According to this view, culture is the physical manifestation created by ethnic groupings, as such fully determined by racial characteristics. Culture and race became considered intertwined and dependent upon each other, sometimes even to the extent of including nationality or language to the set of definition. Pureness of race tended to be related to rather superficial characteristics that were easily addressed and advertised, such as blondness. Racial qualities tended to be related to nationality and language rather than the actual geographic distribution of racial characteristics. In the case of Nordicism, the denomination "Germanic" became virtually equivalent to superiority of race.

Abortion
It is a fight against a child's life and It is a fight from Abortion. Government has taken the choice to choose a child as for it to become a citizen. people agree to that government shouldn't have that much authority over a child unborn.Abortion debate facts are not just black or white, life or death, but instead are largely voiced with opinions based upon the health of the woman and her views of whether or not to have the child or deny that child life.

there is very horrible way to abortion is MEDICAL ABORTION. Medical abortion is uses drugs to empty the contents of the uterus. Medical abortions can be done only early in pregnancy. it may cause heavy bleeding, it may have side effects just like nausea, diarrhea, abdominal cramping or pain, vomiting, hot flashes. You can know more about it on this site http://www.womenshealthmatters.ca/centres/sex/abortion/mva.html. The history of abortion in canada is Abortion was completely banned in Canada in 1869.
As in other countries, illegal abortions were still performed, and some cases charged that this led to the deaths of women.
An early example received much attention during the abortion trial of Emily Stove (1879). Another such case, Azoulay v. The Queen, reached the Supreme Court in 1952. In both cases, the alleged abortion provider was ultimately acquitted of responsibility for the woman's death.

global warming

Global Warming

Global Warming has been one of the main things that has been happening around the globe as a political issue. Kyoto Protocol is a protocol to the united nations framework convention on climate change, they are trying to stop dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system. As you can see the picture from above represents that as of June 2009 where dark green indicates the countries that have signed and ratified the treaty, grey is not yet decided and red is no intention to ratify. I can see the support and helping of people to help the environment and I would like to join and help in health and support to global warming.

Due to global warming many cause have happened in earth in good ways and bad ways, One good reason good be- with a global temperature increase of 2-4 degrees, vast areas of the northern US, Southern Canada, northern UK and central Russia will be available for farming. This is pristine land that has never been farmed before and will more than replace the marginalized farmlands that will eventually turn into desert. One bad reason good be-Glaciers and mountain snows are rapidly melting—for example, Montana`s Glacier national park now has only 27 glaciers, versus 150 in 1910. In the Northern Hemisphere, thaws also come a week earlier in spring and freezes begin a week later.
